Theistic Evolution attempts to marry the biblical creation account with the theory of evolution. Theistic evolution proponents suggest that God is the ultimate Creator, but that He employed evolution to accomplish His creation. One of these compromises suggests that the days of creation were long periods of time -- perhaps millions or even billions of years.
